SENIOR PATROL LEADER (SPL)

We are looking for a Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL)!  Are you a Boy Scout looking for a leadership role?  Are you interesting in working and leading our youth staff?  Are you interested in entertaining and mentoring your fellow scouts?  If so, please contact the Camp Director.  SPL and ASPL work together and are responsible for helping to run the Day Camp the entire week, motivate and make sure our campers are having a great time and leading our youth volunteers.

DEN WALKERS

Day Camp is staffed entirely by parents and volunteers.   We need you to be a part of the FUN!   Den Walkers follow a den through the day supervising the group and helping the youth Den Leaders.  Parents, adult siblings, grandparents, neighbors, aunts and uncles… everyone is welcome to help out.  We require whole days only and you can help out 1 day, 2 days, or all week!  Come and spend some time with your scout and see what we are up to at day camp.  Adults that volunteer for three or more days get a free T shirt and $10 gift certificate to the scout shop.  Register online as an adult volunteer to help put on the best day camp!

TRAINING

ARCHERY

Archery training will be held at the Oso Lake Boy Scout Camp, 21131 Los Alisos Blvd, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688-3242.  Each session is a complete course and is open to youth and adults volunteering for day camp.  There is no fee for these trainings.  There will be archery merit badge sessions preceding the two youth rangemaster classes.  These will cover a portion of the archery merit badge, not the complete merit badge.  See the Important Dates above for scheduled training information.  Only youth volunteers with completed training can be on the archery range at day camp.

YOUTH & ADULT VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Training and Walk Thru for both adults and youth volunteers will take place at Mile Square Park where the day camp is held.  We are at Shelters 9 & 10 next to Camp Sycamore and Parking Lot E.  Free parking is available on Edinger or Euclid Ave.  Please do not be late.  All volunteers must be trained in order to help at day camp.  Training is mandatory even if you have volunteered at previous camps.  See the Important Dates above for scheduled training information.  Contact the Day Camp Director if you need to reschedule.

FRIDAY FAMILY PICNIC

We’re inviting all family members to join us on our last day of camp starting at noon for a family picnic lunch.  Get ready to be entertained with their skits and see what they have been doing all week long!  You can buy a lunch for you and your scout during registration, which includes a hamburger, fruit and drink OR bring your own.  Don’t forget to bring a chair and blanket to sit on!

COMMUNITY DONORS

Would you like to donate time, food, or supplies to our day camp?  Boy Scouts of America is a nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of charitable donations to support its ongoing operations.  Please contact the Camp Director to donate.
